Ocean Blue is a Caridina shrimp recognised for its rich royal-blue midsection and contrasting pale blue-to-white head and tail patterning. The supplied shrimp shows strong dark blue bands across the body, with lighter icy blue pigmentation and fine speckling concentrated around the head. This distinctive two-tone appearance gives Ocean Blue a noticeably different look from more uniformly coloured blue shrimp. Colour intensity, band placement and pale coverage can vary naturally between individuals, making each shrimp visually distinctive in a planted or dedicated Caridina aquarium.
Ocean Blue Caridina are best maintained in a mature, fully cycled aquarium with soft, stable water and minimal parameter swings. A buffering active substrate paired with remineralised RO water is commonly used to maintain the low KH and mildly acidic conditions preferred by this type of Caridina. Provide mosses, botanicals or porous hardscape to encourage biofilm and continuous grazing. Feed a varied shrimp diet sparingly and avoid sudden changes in temperature or water chemistry. Consistency is particularly important when maintaining a breeding colony or acclimating newly introduced shrimp.
