Wine Red High Grade is a Caridina cantonensis shrimp from the established Taiwan Bee group, recognised for its deep wine-red pigmentation and contrasting white patterning. Higher-grade specimens are selected for stronger colour intensity, cleaner coverage and well-defined markings, creating a rich red-and-white appearance in planted aquariums. Pattern placement and the balance between red and white can vary naturally between individuals, so each shrimp may show a slightly different expression. Wine Red remains a highly recognisable Taiwan Bee variety for Caridina keepers, collectors and breeders seeking strong colour and established ornamental genetics.
Wine Red High Grade shrimp are best maintained in a mature, fully cycled soft-water aquarium with stable conditions. A buffering active substrate paired with remineralised RO water is commonly used for Taiwan Bee Caridina to maintain low KH and mildly acidic water. Provide established biofilm, mosses and other grazing surfaces alongside a balanced shrimp diet. Avoid sudden changes in temperature, TDS or mineral concentration, particularly during water changes. Consistent water chemistry and careful acclimation are important for healthy moulting and breeding, with long-term stability taking priority over repeatedly adjusting parameters.
