Yellow Galaxy is a Caridina shrimp recognised for its vivid yellow-to-golden coloration and detailed Galaxy patterning. The photographed shrimp displays strong yellow pigmentation with lighter irregular markings distributed across the carapace and abdomen, creating variation in both colour intensity and coverage. Some areas appear more opaque while others show greater translucency, adding depth to the overall phenotype. Individual Yellow Galaxy shrimp can naturally vary in yellow intensity, pattern density and marking placement while retaining the characteristic Galaxy appearance.
Yellow Galaxy shrimp are best maintained in a mature, fully cycled soft-water aquarium with stable conditions. A buffering active substrate paired with remineralised RO water is commonly used to maintain low KH and mildly acidic conditions. Provide established biofilm, mosses and other grazing surfaces alongside a balanced shrimp diet. Avoid rapid changes in temperature, TDS or mineral concentration during maintenance and water changes. Careful acclimation and consistent water chemistry are important for healthy moulting and long-term breeding.
