Yellow Ocean is a Caridina shrimp distinguished by its bright yellow pigmentation and distinctive Ocean-line appearance. The body displays vivid yellow color with lightly translucent areas that create natural variation in tone and opacity, while selected individuals may show a subtle metallic sheen across the body. Yellow pigmentation can extend through the head, abdomen, tail and legs, producing a particularly vibrant ornamental aquarium shrimp. Individual Yellow Ocean shrimp can naturally vary in color intensity, transparency, metallic expression and overall coverage, giving each specimen its own appearance while retaining the characteristic yellow phenotype.
Yellow Ocean shrimp should be maintained in a mature, fully cycled aquarium with clean and stable soft water. A buffering active substrate paired with remineralised RO water is a practical setup for maintaining the low KH and controlled mineral content preferred by specialised Caridina. Provide established biofilm, mosses and other grazing surfaces, supplemented with a balanced shrimp diet. Avoid abrupt changes in temperature, TDS or water chemistry during maintenance and water changes. Careful acclimation is recommended when introducing new shrimp, with long-term parameter stability taking priority over continually adjusting the aquarium to reach exact values.
